Mission
Raphael House provides a foundation of hope for a life free from domestic violence. We offer life-saving, gender-inclusive services to adults and children escaping abuse—to help survivors achieve the safety and stability they deserve—while also working to prevent future abuse through education.

Annually, Raphael House reaches more than 5,540 survivors and community members through emergency shelter in a confidential location (nearly 30% of all local bed space for survivors), housing assistance, and ongoing support, along with violence prevention education plus confidential advocacy for teens in all 9 Portland Public high schools.
As need for our services continues to grow, and amid Portland's escalating housing crisis, we’ve continually offered 24-hour shelter and hotline assistance. Last year alone we provided a safe haven to nearly 100 adults, children, and pets escaping violence; assisted 1,133 callers; and supported 500+ survivors in staying safe, stable, and housed.
We also distributed 30,395 pounds of food; facilitated 231 survivor support groups; and helped ensure that 91% of families across our programs have maintained their housing!
