ReBuilding Center

Mission

The ReBuilding Center is a community-powered reuse hub that circulates materials, builds skills, and advances climate solutions.

Bottom Line

ReBuilding Center is where Portland puts reuse into action. For nearly 30 years, we’ve kept useful building materials out of the landfill and moving through our community—into homes, repairs, creative projects, classrooms, art, and new ideas. Our reuse store makes reclaimed materials affordable and accessible, while hands-on classes give people the skills and confidence to repair, build, and create. With more than 60 million pounds of materials diverted since 1997, ReBuilding Center is more than a salvage store—we’re a working model of the circular economy, reducing waste, saving people money, building self-reliance, and making climate action something everyone can participate in.

Quote

“As a solo first time homeowner the things that come up can be daunting, but the classes I have taken at ReBuilding Center have given me confidence and optimism to work on projects!” - Susan N, ReBuilding Center student
