The Pongo Fund
Mission
The Pongo Fund provides the highest quality food and veterinary care referral for tens of thousands of hungry, hurting and homeless animals belonging to our community’s most vulnerable, keeping them safe, healthy and out of the shelters. More than 40 million meals provided, and more than 244,000 animals helped.
Bottom Line for Portland
THE PONGO FUND IS OREGON'S PET FOOD BANK. Because hungry people have hungry pets.
The Pongo Fund provides multi-critical services in animal welfare including the highest quality food and veterinary care referral for the family pets of our community’s most vulnerable, including seniors, veterans, the homeless, the unemployed, the low-income, the marginalized and more.
Our services are free of charge and include MORE THAN 40 MILLION MEALS PROVIDED, helping more than 244,000 hungry, hurting and homeless animals stay safe, healthy and out of the shelters. Our volunteer driven group helps people and pets statewide, with an extensive focus in Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington and Marion-Polk counties.
Dozens of groups rely on The Pongo Fund for food and referral for their own clients, including Oregon Food Bank, Oregon Humane Society, Humane Society for Southwest Washington, Oregon Department of Human Services, Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs, Dove Lewis Animal Hospital, Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter, Willamette Humane Society, Hollywood Senior Center, Central City Concern, Meals on Wheels, Transition Projects, Home Forward, NW Housing Alternatives, Sunshine Division, Neighborhood House, Cascade Aids Project, Esther's Pantry, Snowcap, Potluck in the Park, Blanchet House, Union Gospel Mission and many more.
Quite simply, The Pongo Fund gives a chance to animals that might not otherwise have a chance and gives hope to families who might have little else to be hopeful for.
Because sometimes, we all can use a little extra help.
