The Raven Corps

New
BIPOC-Led Organization

Mission

The Raven Corps empowers, supports, and mobilizes Vegan activists between the ages of 15 and 22, “Ravens", who advocate for the liberation of all animals, both human and nonhuman, and our natural world.

Bottom Line for Portland

The Raven Corps was born in our beautiful city, and with Portland's support, we've been able to spread our wings (we can never resist a bird pun!), welcoming Ravens from across the country. This year, we launched “Operation: Mind Over Milk”, a campaign to raise awareness on the myriad harms caused by the dairy industry and increase student access to plant-based milk in the over 100,000 schools that rely upon the National School Lunch Program. From lobbying Congress to creating hard-hitting campaign materials to organizing a national “Scary Dairy” Day of Action, Ravens are confronting the animal cruelty, dietary racism, food waste, and environmental degradation associated with compulsory dairy milk in US schools.

In 2023, we'll build off this momentum, turning an anti-dairy moment into an anti-dairy movement.

Our strong community of values-driven Gen Z leaders and activists are forging a multi-dimensional, inclusive approach to Vegan advocacy, taking action from a total liberation lens, striking at the very roots of oppression, and building a justice movement for our planet and everyone who calls it home.

Quote

I’m a Raven because I want my voice to matter and change to be made in the face of the ridged expectations of a society that shuns it. I hope that we can inspire more vegans, non-vegans, and animal lovers alike to take part in meaningful changes to achieve a more peaceful world. - Noahble Roberson

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At The Raven Corps, we define Veganism as a total liberation movement and aim to confront oppression in all its forms. As such, we are deeply committed to cultivating and practicing the same values within our organization that we espouse in our advocacy. Even as a micro-sized organization, we have committed, highly trained DEI staff as well as a Raven-centered equity committee, “Raven Haven”. Our top priority is to ensure that ALL Ravens feel safe and heard in an inclusive community that cares deeply about them.
