Thimbleberry Collaborative Farm
Mission
At Thimbleberry Collaborative Farm, we aim to co-create a more sustainable, equitable, efficient, and healthy food system. Our mission is to advance individual, community, and environmental health in East Multnomah and Clackamas Counties by providing healthy, locally grown produce; access to land; educational programs; and community-led events.
Bottom Line for Portland
Thimbleberry Collaborative Farm (TCF) grows produce for lower income families and offers educational programs, including school field trips and workshops focused on sustainable agriculture methods, cooking with seasonal produce, and food systems issues. These programs are designed to address food insecurity, which affects folks in East Multnomah County at a disproportional rate. In 2024, we provided over 9,400 lbs of produce to the community at no cost to recipients, and we engaged about 700 community members in our field trips, workshops, and educational farmers market activities.
Quote
“Working with Thimbleberry and bringing students to the farm for almost three years has been amazing. We all find peace, a sense of belonging, and students are allowed to just be themselves while at Thimbleberry. Thimbleberry gives the students a chance to learn new skills, create new experiences especially with food, and learn more about what they are passionate about." - Chaperone from a recurring field trip group (with Reynolds HS students)
