Our mission is to produce, present and support programs that reflect and enhance the cultural life of the community and to preserve and celebrate the building’s historic architecture.

Want to do something really nice for your fellow Portlanders? A gift to TOC provides funds for free concerts, community events, and it helps us maintain our landmark building. For decades TOC has been known as a venue – a very grand one. This year, we embark on a bigger journey: We are determined to help artists of all types, the communities they represent, and their audiences. Our goal is to make the arts eminently accessible. That’s why we’re hanging paintings on the walls, partnering with Music Portland, hosting speakers and expanding our free concert series. TOC has been a part of Portland’s fabric for over 55 years, and we want to do all we can to see our city thrive and prosper.

After having attended many concerts at TOC, I can say that the venue is a wonderfully complex assemblage of characteristics. It is both casual and elegant, reverent and welcoming, and the atmosphere sets the stage for each concert being a "special" occasion. The acoustics are stellar, every seat promises a good view, and the experience there is always momentous, yet intimate. TOC is one of my favorite Portland venues.
