Youth, Rights & Justice

Mission

Youth, Rights & Justice advances the rights of children, parents, and families through advocacy in the courts, schools, legislature, and community.

Bottom Line for Portland

Whether it’s in the schools, capitol or community, we take our advocacy beyond the courts to protect the rights of our clients. By fighting for the rights of children, parents, and families within the child welfare and juvenile justice systems, we can address systemic issues and push for reforms that impact Oregonians across the state.

Quote

“Without the work of Youth, Rights & Justice, we wouldn’t have been able to make change possible. And that’s huge.” Kendra, former client of YRJ.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The mission of Youth, Rights & Justice is rooted in creating equity for children and families who have experienced marginalization and oppression by the child welfare, juvenile justice, and education systems. DEI is at the core of our work and has always been part of YRJ’s journey in individual cases, policy work, and impact litigation.
