Mission

Clackamas Service Center is an inclusive "one-stop" community center for individuals and families seeking food relief and resources for improved health, dignity, and stability.

Bottom Line for Portland

If you didn't know where your next meal would come from, what would you do?

If you needed more than food - perhaps a new coat, a hot shower, medical care, or rental assistance, where would you go?

CSC is the largest food pantry in Clackamas County, with a 51-year tradition of providing food relief to people facing hunger, homelessness, or food insecurity. We believe everyone deserves access to healthy food, basic hygiene, and safe housing. Over time, our services have grown to include:

  • - Fresh, frozen and shelf-stable groceries, at our main location and at pop-up sites like elementary schools
  • - Hygiene items (menstrual supplies, diapers, soap, razors, etc.)
  • - Hot, filling, nutritious meals
  • - ADA-accessible hot showers
  • - Clothing for adults and kids
  • - Access to laundry machines
  • - Medical care provided on-site by our partners Outside In
  • - Mail receiving for people without another fixed address
  • - One-time and short-term rental support for Clackamas residents
  •

Through partnerships with over a dozen other organizations serving neighbors in Clackamas and Multnomah Counties, each month we distribute over 117,000 lbs of food to up to 10,000 people facing food insecurity.

If we reach our goal, we'll be able to distribute approximately 25,000 lbs of delicious and nutritious food to kids, seniors, and everyone in between.

Quote

“It means so much to have a resource like CSC, you’re fantastic. You’ve done right by so many people.” - Cheryl, food pantry user and caretaker for rental assistance recipient

“Clackamas Service Center is a good place to turn to when you're homeless or down on your luck. They help a lot of people in a lot of ways. I could not even imagine if the service center wasn't here when I went homeless… I would be lost.” - Sharon, formerly houseless CSC visitor

“I would not be where I am without the Clackamas Service Center. I think they should have one in every zip code!” - Guy, formerly houseless CSC visitor

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

CSC recognizes that many people experiencing hunger, financial insecurity, or houselessness are also facing systemic societal issues that are likely to increase income disparity, like racism and anti-LGBTQ+ bias. We strive to reduce barriers to access, provide culturally relevant support, and create an inclusive, welcoming space for everyone who visits our center or a pop-up location.

Incentives

Every donor to CSC's Give!Guide campaign will be mailed a 20% off coupon (good until March 31, 2025) to Bob's Red Mill Whole Grain Store, Restaurant & Bakery.

Partner(s)

Milk Crate Kitchen is one of CSC's amazing Food Share partners, helping our food go farther by integrating CSC food donations into the delicious family meals they cook and deliver to people in need.

We are grateful to Bob's Red Mill for all the ways they support our mission, including through their donation of this year's Give!Guide incentives.

In addition to our Give!Guide-specific partners listed above, we have dozens of other amazing partners, and we are thankful to each of them for the work they do that supports and enriches the lives of everyone in our community.
