Reading Results

OCT Qualified

Working toward our vision that all children have the right to read and succeed, Reading Results partners with schools serving students who are most likely to experience the opportunity gap associated with race and poverty to provide a proven reading acceleration program.

Bottom Line for Portland

This school year, Reading Results will provide more than 31,000 individualized tutoring sessions to 650 local students. Each student actively engages in personalized instruction and learns the skills and strategies needed to be a successful reader. On average, students in our program make 16 months of reading gains over eight months. Reading Results meets students where they are – making a difference in the lives of students every day!

“Having the opportunity for students to get that extra support has been important for students, but also for teachers. Our students come out of this program with more confidence as readers."

- Tina Turner, Principal, Rosa Parks Elementary

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Reading Results strives to be an Anti-Biased/Anti-Racist organization that centers diversity, equity, and inclusion in our program, decision-making and allocation of resources. We are intentional about this work and focus on reaching students who have been, and continue to be, systematically excluded. In seeking to advance social justice and foster equitable access, we create a stronger and fuller program for every student we serve.

The first $3,000 in donations was matched by a local family foundation, doubling the impact of donations. Thank you to our partners, 24th & Meatballs, Montelupo Italian Market, and A Children’s Place Bookstore, who offered incentives during our campaign!
