Bring your own apples from home trees, or just come as you are - we'll be pressing fresh cider from hundreds of pounds of “B-grade” apples rescued this season from Portland's urban canopy. Together, we'll turn local abundance into a delicious reminder of what community care looks like in action.
The day will feature:
🍎 Community Cider Pressing – BYO apples or help us press the city’s surplus fruit!
🎃 Free Pumpkin Carving & Gourd Painting with our friends from Urban Gleaners
🎶 Live Music from HONK PDX starting at 1:00 PM
🚚 Taqueria La Merced Truck for tasty local, healthy bites
🎨 Activities with 20+ Local Nonprofits — most featured in the 2025 Willamette Week Give!Guide, which is launching November 1st
The Cider Fest is a celebration of giving back — a reminder that generosity and community thrive when we share what we have. As Portland heads into the giving season, this event honors the people, organizations, and everyday acts that keep our city thriving.
“Now, more than maybe ever, we are all in this together — supporting Portland, supporting those that give to us, and creating community out of the abundance all around us,” notes Heather, Executive Director of Portland Fruit Tree Project.
Come press, play, carve, dance, and connect — because when Portland comes together, the results are sweet.
