AC Portland (Active Children Portland)

New
BIPOC-Led Organization

Mission

Active Children Portland offers equitable access to after-school programming centered around academic enrichment, physical wellness, and mentorship in order to empower youth in building healthy communities.

Bottom Line for Portland

Giving to AC Portland helps in serving over 30 school sites in the Portland-Metro Area and over 1,200 elementary and middle school youth. Programming is 100% free for youth and families and we provide our partners with all equipment and materials as well as our highly qualified and trained coach-mentors.  Your gift gives access to sport for Portland's most marginalized youth and ensures that strong kids build strong communities.

Quote

“AC Portland's program cultivates the development of social skills, team work efforts, and positive decision making opportunities for all participating students."

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At AC Portland, 94% of the children enrolled in our programs qualify for free or reduced lunches and over 80% come from communities of color. We are committed to the ongoing work of eliminating barriers to participation in sport & providing safe spaces for children to play/learn/grow after school. Child care is community care and crucial to the economic development of our community.
