Active Children Portland

Mission

ACP believes that every child deserves the right to play, learn, and grow. Our mission is to provide access to free after-school programming to Oregon's historically underserved youth.

Bottom Line

For every 1 child enrolled in after-school programming, there are another 3 are waiting for access.

Portland's all too common pay-to-play model has created a system where access to daily movement, mentorships, and academic enrichment are dependent on a family’s ability to pay, not on the child’s needs. ACP rejects this model by providing free sports and academic after-school programming directly on school grounds.

Your gift ensures that more of Portland's underserved youth are provided access to life changing programs run by caring mentors.

Quote

"I have experienced firsthand what an impact this programming makes on our kids, the classroom, and the community."

• - Ranya Khoury, MFS SUN Coordinator at H.B. Lee Middle School
•

"Students need after school clubs for enrichment learning and access to extra-curricular
activities. There are no other sports or activities offered in our small rural community, so this
Active Children Portland partnership has been a tremendous blessing. Active Children Portland helped reignite a district commitment to these programs."

• - Dusty Price, Principal at Gervais Elementary School
