Alberta Abbey aims to nurture the creative, visual and performing arts in N/NE Portland by amplifying opportunities for Black and underrepresented communities. The Abbey serves this mission by providing affordable education, gallery, studio, and performance spaces, and showcasing events for local groups of all ages.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Alberta Abbey is dedicated to fostering an inclusive community and artistic space that is safe, welcoming, and accessible. Serving the historically Black King neighborhood in Northeast Portland, Alberta Abbey's programming helps counteract the negative effects of gentrification by prioritizing and amplifying opportunities for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), women, and LGBTQ2SIA+ artists, staff, and vendors. We provide low-cost and free events to ensure access for all, and have committed to the 10/20/30 READI Pledge for racial equity and inclusion.

Montavilla Jazz strengthens & diversifies local culture, providing platforms for forward-thinking artistry & original, Portland-made music.
