Mission

APANO unites Asians and Pacific Islanders to build power, develop leaders, and advance equity through organizing, advocacy, community development, and cultural work.

Bottom Line for Portland

The recent 2020 census shows that our communities in Oregon are growing, with the Asian population in the state growing by 48% and the Pacific Islander population growing by 54% since 2010. Our communities are rooted here - we belong. And we will keep working together to make this state a better, fairer place for all.

Quote

"I think leadership is when things happen. I feel like people actually trust me so I try to do what I can do for the community.  For long term work people are impressed in the community, because I work with APANO they trust me and trust APANO." Wanna Lei, APANO Chinese Community Organizer
