Mission

Providing a competitive advantage to Hillsboro public schools by cultivating community giving that fosters innovative student creativity and success.

Bottom Line for Portland

The Hillsboro Schools Foundation empowers students by funding innovative educational programs that ignite curiosity, creativity, and achievement beyond the standard curriculum. By bridging gaps in public funding, HSF brings real-world learning experiences - like STEM labs, shop classes, literacy initiatives, and career exploration - directly into classrooms. This work helps ensure every student in the Hillsboro School District has the opportunity to thrive regardless of background or circumstance.

Quote

“HSF gives teachers hope.” Mike Scott, Hillsboro School District Superintendent (2009-2023)

“Their face lights up and their guard goes down.”  Kim Parrett, Library Media Assistant, describing what she sees when students enter the HSF funded next-level makerspace at Poynter Middle School.

“This club served the most kids out of any other club at our school. We saw the kids be challenged, and be able to persevere when they were stuck or they had challenges…” Jennifer Brown, PTO President at Jackson Elementary School, sharing the student impact of her HSF-funded grant for an after-school LEGO robotics club.
