Leach Botanical Garden offers immersive, restorative, and educational experiences in a unique landscape of native plants and horticultural collections for the purpose of building community, celebrating nature, and inspiring environmental stewardship.

Bottom Line

Portland Saved Leach Botanical Garden – Now Help it Grow

Portland showed up for Leach, and that’s why the Garden is still here. For people in Southeast Portland without access to parks, gardens, or tree canopy, Leach Botanical Garden is where they go to be outside. For a weekend with family, for first dates, or just for a place to breathe after a long week.

When City funding for parks was cut, we put out a call for help to keep the Garden open. Portland answered. Volunteers took on more of the maintenance, and donations came in from across the city. 

You’ve already shown that Portland will fight for public green space. And with steady support, we can go further: more community programming, new garden spaces and plants, and long-term sustainability so this place can stay open for all to enjoy.

Volunteers are helping to keep the 17-acre Garden going, but they shouldn’t have to do it alone. Gifts to Leach go toward long-term sustainability, so we can continue being SE Portland’s public green space. With your support, we can keep the Garden accessible to all and grow what’s next.
