Metropolitan Family Service
Mission
Metropolitan Family Service’s mission is to help people move beyond the limitations of poverty, inequity, and social isolation.
Bottom Line
Since 1950, MFS has moved lives forward in the Portland metro area. Deeply rooted in our culturally diverse, intergenerational community - 75% of program participants identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and 95% live in extremely low-income households.
Measurable results include increased learning for children, improved family dynamics, access to economic opportunities, and deeper inter-generational connections in our community. What is exceptional is that 94% of program participants say that MFS helped move their lives forward.
