Mission

Oregon Dog Rescue is committed to saving lives by providing a safe haven for dogs in need. As a no-kill, 501 (c) (3) non-profit, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs from overcrowded shelters, owner surrenders, and high-risk environments. Every dog receives medical care, socialization, and a personalized adoption plan to help ensure lifelong success in their new homes. 🐾

Oregon Dog Rescue is a no-kill shelter deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest, rescuing dogs from at-risk situations and placing over 19,000 into loving homes since 2007. By reducing euthanasia rates and supporting dogs in crisis, we work to strengthen the community through compassion and connection. Our unique setup provides playrooms where the dogs can socialize with one another while being safely supervised by our dedicated team of staff and volunteers. 

Speaking of volunteers, we invite you to make a big difference in the lives of animals while they await forever homes. You can sign up to take a rescue pup on a walk around the neighborhood, or if you're feeling extra adventurous, try a field trip to go hiking with an active fido!  Each volunteer, every successful adoption, and all of the tail wags create a ripple effect of kindness across this vibrant city. Volunteers, fosters, adopters, and donors are the true heartbeat of our mission - with every helping hand saving lives!
