Portland Radio Project

Mission
PRP’s mission is to elevate local artists and organizations through streaming, broadcasting and podcasting, engaging new generations of arts lovers and community supporters. Recognizing the historic imbalance of power in broadcasting, we are leaders in the movement toward a more equitable media landscape.
Bottom Line for Portland
We create opportunities for emerging local musicians, especially underserved artists, to debut their releases and gain performing experience, knowing they are supported by an award-winning arts nonprofit. Through our podcast co-op we are an outlet for diverse perspectives and expressions, highlighting compelling social issues. By supporting our work to uplift local artists, you contribute to PRP's mission and to the enhancement of Portland-area culture.
Quote
“... You actually listened to my music, invited me for interviews, and gave me the confidence I needed in the local scene to move forward...You guys treat artists amazingly! You play music that you like and believe in, regardless of how popular it is.” Gil Assayas (aka GLASYS)
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We at Portland Radio Project are a reflection of the diverse community we serve. We actively seek viewpoints from varied sources in our ongoing effort to better culture ourselves, as well as our listeners. We continuously align our organization with increasingly diverse communities in the Portland area and proactively examine every programming decision through a DEI lens to create a stronger, more creative media experience.
