Mission

Pacific Refugee Support Group is working to re-empower forcibly displaced individuals and families through social services, advocacy, and navigating a path to a safe, fulfilling life in their new home.

Bottom Line

Government-contracted resettlement services typically provide support for only the first 3–6 months after arrival, focusing on immediate needs as refugees and other forcibly displaced people begin rebuilding their lives. PRSG helps bridge what comes next.

By supporting refugees, asylum seekers, and other newly arrived community members with education, economic mobility, social connections, wellness, and other resources, PRSG helps people build the social capital and stability they need to thrive long-term. This strengthens not only individuals and families, but Portland and Oregon as a whole by helping new community members build connections and fully participate in the community.

🧡 Pueblo Unido creates hope for communities with vulnerable immigration status by connecting them to legal, social, and Indigenous language services. This year, they’re mentoring us through Give!Guide, and earlier this year they have trained our Community Legal Clinic team on legal navigation through the universal representation program of ECO for community members.

💛 OK You, provides free creative resources designed to help individuals navigate complex emotions while staying connected to their most authentic, "OK" selves. Through our partnership with OK YOU, we’re working on translating OK Kits into multiple languages to make OK Kits available to the families we support. 

🩵 Burrito Brigade brings together community members across Eugene and Springfield to handcraft and share hot meals with those who need them most. Waste to Taste, their largest project, rescues food daily and distributes in a free grocery-store style food pantry that operates 5 days a week and also through their Little Free Pantry neighborhood networks. Through our partnership, they’re helping our Central and Southern Oregon team address food insecurity by providing fresh local farm produce boxes to the families we support across Lane County.

💚 NE Emergency Food Program distributes nutritious groceries to our neighbors in need. Each week, our volunteers join their team to pack food boxes and help deliver them to community members who may have difficulty leaving their homes. Together, we’re ensuring that everyone in our community has access to the food and care they deserve.

🏡 Shift Vacation Rentals, owned by a couple who give back to their community by regularly hosting refugee dinners that bring people together through food, stories, and connection. Our partnership shines through these gatherings, most recently featuring one of our community member chefs.

🍵 Yogi Tea crafting delicious blends inspired by Ayurvedic traditions for over five decades, is more than just a tea company—they’re a well-being company. Through our partnership, Yogi Tea provides comforting tea for the families in Lane County supported by our Central and Southern Oregon team.
