The Pongo Fund
Providing high quality food and lifesaving veterinary care for the family pets of our community’s most vulnerable, keeping them safe, healthy and out of the shelters.
Bottom Line for Portland
The Pongo Fund provides award-winning and multi-critical services in animal welfare including the highest quality food and lifesaving veterinary care for the family pets of our community’s most vulnerable, including seniors, veterans, the homeless, the unemployed, the low-income, the marginalized and more. We provide our services free of charge, consistently and without fail, and since 2009 we have helped more than 175,000 hungry and hurting animals, keeping each one of them safe, healthy and out of the shelters. Quite simply, The Pongo Fund gives a chance to animals that might not otherwise have a chance and gives hope to families who often have little else to be hopeful for. Because sometimes we all can use a little extra help.
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.” - Anatole France
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We drive diversity, equity and inclusion practices by being diverse, equal and inclusive in all components of our work. We hold ourselves to this standard and we do not and will not discriminate in any of our activities or operations. The Pongo Fund is a safe sanctuary for all, including for the oftentimes marginalized community, and everyone is welcomed and treated equally and respectfully. We also proudly maintain extensive services to all community members in every part of the community, both geographically and otherwise, including active support to and from the BIPOC community.
