Cat Adoption Team (CAT)
Mission
Cat Adoption Team’s mission is to save the lives of homeless cats and to work with our community to provide feline expertise and quality programs and services for people and cats.
Bottom Line for Portland
Your donation to CAT gives love, laughter, and companionship to the Portland metro area and beyond! Together, we provide adoption opportunities, foster care, and veterinary services to cats and kittens in need — and every cat is safe in our care until they find the right new home. The CAT Helpline, spay/neuter clinic, and related programs help people keep and care for their cats. With the support of adopters, staff and volunteers, and donors like YOU, thousands of cats and people find friendship at CAT each year. Let’s keep the love going! 💕
Quote
“I had to rehome a very sweet kitty that I found as a stray and could not get my other cats to accept. It was a difficult decision and we were sad to say goodbye. BUT the wonderful people at CAT made it so much easier!! They were so kind and took the time to find out about his behavior and preferences… It is a tough world out there for abandoned animals and CAT provides a much needed resource. I am SO grateful to everyone who works there. They are AWESOME.” — Leah R., CAT Helpline Client
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Respect for people is a core value at Cat Adoption Team. We’re working to create a space where all people are welcome, respected, and valued. Our DEI Committee is working through a broad range of initiatives to ensure we make impactful change, not only in policy and procedure, but within our organizational culture. To learn more about CAT’s commitment to address issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, please read our full DEI Statement of Principle and our most recent initiatives update.
Incentives
2x Match for Young Donors: To inspire the next generation to join the cause, one 84-year-old donor is going to double every Give!Guide donation to CAT from anyone age 35 and under, up to a total of $5,000! (This generous matching gift is made in memory of Walt and in honor of Lily.)
Big Board Matching Challenge: A group of CAT board members past and present are challenging fellow cat lovers to raise $30,000 in three days. From December 2–4, they'll match every Give!Guide donation to CAT, dollar for dollar until we meet that goal. That could add up to $60K to our current total. Mark your calendar now to double your impact!
