FIDO Pet Food Bank
Mission
Our mission is to provide pet food, supplies, and wrap-around services to ensure that the bond between people and their pet companions is unbroken.
Bottom Line for Portland
🐾 We keep pets and families together: In 2024, we provided 1,474,422 meals, helping families avoid surrendering their pets during times of crisis and keeping thousands of animals safely at home. An increase of 17.5% from the 1.16 million meals we provided in 2023.
❤️ We support vulnerable populations: We serve low-income individuals, seniors, veterans, and families, reaching an average of 2,000+ pets and 500 households each month across Clackamas County and surrounding Oregon communities.
🍽️ We help improve community health and wellbeing: Through programs like AniMeals, which partners with 10 local senior centers, FIDO enhances the physical and emotional health of seniors by ensuring their pets remain a source of comfort and companionship.
🐶 We help reduce shelter overcrowding: By focusing on animals already in homes, FIDO helps prevent shelter relinquishment, contributing to one of the lowest animal intake rates in Oregon’s Clackamas County shelter system.
💉 We recently added pet health days to our offerings: Our clients can now sign up for support with their pet’s vaccinations, microchips, and spay or neuter services. In order to participate in our program, pets must be spayed and neutered. Now, we are helping our clients gain access to these supportive services.
Quote
“FIDO went above and beyond for me and my animals. My cat is beyond picky and has only one food she won’t vomit up. I reached out to them and they went out and bought the exact food she needed, and also helped with dog food for my three dogs. I lost my job and am currently dealing with serious medical issues. It’s a huge relief knowing my fur kids have food for the month!”
