Mission

Artists Repertory Theatre's (ART) mission is to produce intimate, provocative theatre and provide a home for a diverse community of artists and audiences to take creative risks.

Bottom Line

The world is on fire. And we need art to offer joy without pretending everything is okay. 

That’s why Artists Rep’s 2026-27 season, featuring playwrights with ties to the Pacific Northwest, is called Comedies for a World on Fire. 

Artists from here have something specific and important to say about this moment. Their work helps us grapple with the world, even when it wants us numb and complicit. But that work needs room to develop. Artists need chances to take risks, in spaces where creativity and connection can flourish faster than forest fires and data centers.

At Artists Rep, even amid uncertainty and challenge, a flame perseveres within us. One that creates and inspires with humor and love. Your donation lights the match.

 Oregon Artswatch is an independent journalism nonprofit dedicated to covering arts, culture, and history across Oregon and SW Washington. Last year, they supported ART’s PATHWAYS mentorship program in developing theatre critic skills. 

The Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education illuminates the history of Jews in Oregon, the state's history of discrimination and resistance, and the Holocaust through local survivors' perspectives

FIDO Pet Food Bank provides pet food, supplies, and wrap-around services to ensure that the bond between people and their pet companions is unbroken.

Kickstand Comedy is Portland's home for local comedy, providing mission-based programming and educational outreach that helps Portlanders connect, learn and laugh together.
