Clackamas River Basin Council

Mission
We foster partnerships for clean water and to improve fish and wildlife habitat and the quality of life for those who live, work and recreate in the watershed.
Bottom Line for Portland
The Clackamas River provides drinking water to more than 300,000 people across the Portland metro area, sustains threatened salmon and wildlife, and offers a place for families to explore, paddle, fish, and recharge. When we protect this river, we protect public health, cultural heritage, climate resilience, and community joy. Every tree we plant, every barrier we remove, every mile of river we restore is an investment in a future where both people and nature can thrive — together.

Together, we restore habitat, support wildlife, and create spaces where everyone can connect to nature. The work we do together teaches us how essential the Clackamas River watershed is to our lives and to the well-being of our community.”
