Adventures Without Limits
Mission
At Adventures Without Limits (AWL), our mission is to provide opportunity and adventure for all people, regardless of their ability level, socio-economic status, gender, ethnicity, or age.
Bottom Line for Portland
In the Portland area, outdoor recreation is widely popular, yet there are many people who do not have access to outdoor recreation due to many real barriers. We commit year-round to supporting a safe community for folks to learn new skills, build confidence, make social connections, overcome obstacles, and enjoy the beautiful natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest through immersive adventures.
Your contribution supports continued access for community members to our inclusive and adaptive programs, which include kayaking, snowshoeing, camping, whitewater rafting, hiking, rock climbing, cross-country skiing, and more!
Last year, we spent over 15,000 hours in nature with our community, and our goal is to raise $15,000 to support our mission-driven programs in 2025!
Quote
“We would never have joined a rafting trip without the experience, safety focus, and pro-disability advocacy that the AWL team demonstrated. They took an activity that was a little intimidating and made it doable, safe, mind-blowingly cool, and FUN! There was so much focus on ensuring everyone was safe and included - that regardless of disability, there was always the sense that everyone would be able to find a way to participate and safely experience the adventure.”
- Paul, AWL community trip Participant
