Disability Rights Oregon

Mission

Disability Rights Oregon protects and defends the rights of people with disabilities. This Give!Guide season, we are turning advocacy into action to create a future where everyone belongs. Join us now because the time to act for inclusion is today!

Bottom Line for Portland

Change and belonging can't wait and neither can we. Disability Rights Oregon is transforming lives across Portland and beyond by expanding healthcare and housing access, ensuring people in mental health crisis get real help, fighting for special education funding and foster care youth, investigating abuse and neglect in institutions, and empowering Oregonians with disabilities to be their own fiercest advocates.

Disability Rights Oregon is part of grassroots change happening right now, making life better for real people, and it’s 100% free. Every donation directly supports both life-changing individual cases and the systemic reforms that create a more inclusive, compassionate Oregon. Together we can change lives and build a society where everyone—yes, everyone—has the power to thrive and belong.

Quote

“I am proof people with disabilities can thrive when we get the support and opportunities we need. When I was a child, I was denied entry at a local afterschool program just because I needed a little help with my medicine. My mom never gave up and called Disability Rights Oregon. We worked together to change the rules, be accepted, and truly belong. That’s what Disability Rights Oregon does, and your support makes it possible.”

– Gabrielle Guedon, former DRO client and Oregon Self Advocacy Coalition executive director
