The mission of Community Warehouse is to provide essential furnishings to neighbors in need, creating stronger home foundations and brighter futures. Each week, Community Warehouse helps families and individuals fill their homes with comfort, stability, and joy.
Bottom Line for Portland
Community Warehouse (CW) is an important piece of the housing stability puzzle, providing furniture and household goods to people who need them. Housing assistance and advocacy organizations as well as churches and schools depend on Community Warehouse to provide furniture to their clients and constituents. There is no other furniture bank in our region, so your donations to CW meet a unique need.
“Words just can’t express how thankful we are for the kindness, understanding, and help you gave us during a very stressful time. Community Warehouse took such a heavy weight off of our shoulders. Thank you!”

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Community Warehouse consistently takes action to ensure inclusion and representation for those we serve. 67% of our clients are people of color, and 33% of our staff are people of color. Spanish is the 2nd most commonly-spoken language by our clients, and 20% of staff are Spanish-bilingual. Our Board prioritizes diversity in membership to reflect the community served; they are currently addressing ways in which the CW Board can become a safer environment and a more meaningful experience for people of color.
Anyone who donates to our Give!Guide campaign is invited to a special sale day at The Estate Stores (Portland and Tualatin) in January, where they will receive 20% off their entire purchase.
The Estate Store is the social enterprise arm of Community Warehouse, turning non-essential home items into funds to support our program.
