Community Warehouse

Mission

Our mission at Community Warehouse is to provide donated furniture and household items to neighbors seeking the comfort and dignity of a furnished home while overcoming adversity.

Bottom Line for Portland

Community Warehouse collects donated home goods and works with over 200 social service agencies to get those goods in the hands of those who need it most. We serve 80+ families a week and over 6,600 people each year. In over 23 years of service, we’ve furnished homes for over 100,000 people. In 2023 alone, our organization diverted over 465 tons of reuseable goods from landfills into local homes.

Quote

“I love being able to help my clients furnish their new home–leaving with a bed of their own, being able to really call it ‘home’. I look forward to coming here every single time to help them pick out things that can make them feel right at home and where they want to be for a long time.” - Kymon, Case Manager

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

We value equity and inclusion. At the core of our mission is equity- for those who have enough to share with those who do not- and to focus our efforts on those most affected by systemic injustice and those who most need the community’s support. Additionally, our mission provides an opportunity for everyone in the community to participate in meaningful, philanthropic reuse.
